MEET OUR CREW
Rick Czernek, General Manager
Rick Czernek runs the show at Blue Whale and he's more than qualified to do it. Since 2004, Round Rock has had the pleasure of being the home to this multi-tasker, his wife, daughter, grandchildren and one of his three sons. Thankfully, Blue Whale has shared that privilege since the summer of '07.
Rick has been supervising, managing and marketing for businesses for the last two decades. His efforts have significantly increased productivity, employee wages, and profits at a number of million-dollar companies mainly located in the state of California.
A busy dedicated man with a big family, Rick revels in tactical challenges as well as athletic ones. Having coached his sons in football, basketball, and baseball, it is no surprise that they all went on to be quarterbacks. The Czernek's meet their goals, on and off the field, and Blue Whale is blessed to have Rick as their team leader.
Chez Strickland, Controller
Finding her way into the world of accounting at age seventeen, Chez Strickland performs an unmatched balancing act at Blue Whale and beyond. An east Texan with two pets, two children and a full-time job, Chez secured her degree with online classes in her spare time.
Chez's natural ability and affinity for accounting made her a shoe-in at Blue Whale. With her grit and her fantastic husband's support, no challenge stops Chez from keeping us afloat!
Peter Hillbrand, Sales Manager
Peter Hillbrand knows sales. He began as a telemarketer during his high school years eventually moving on to a position as a project manager for ATT. Peter has since mastered the fine arts of negotiation and deal-closing.
A Missouri native with a Political Science degree from MSU, Peter's interests focus on the outdoors, especially above the ground. For work he may wade in the waters of Blue Whale, but for play he's flying high as a pilot in training.
Jimmy Rogers, Trainer
Jimmy is undoubtedly the best catch of Blue Whale. Mysterious and to himself, you might never know that Jimmy is to be credited with the ease of day-to-day operations and our overall smooth moves. A father and a grandfather, Jimmy is responsible for educating and training the young men here at Blue Whale.
With over twelve year of experience behind him, he has returned to Blue Whale because he simply likes what he does. Oh, and Jimmy is a fisherman. Figures.
Cassandra Garza, HR/Recruiting Manager
Cassandra is our people person. Over the last eight years, she's interfaced with hundreds employees and customers of various businesses. She knows how to hook the best workers, keep them here, happy, and safe. Originally from the San Juan Valley, her family of three has merrily moved to nearby Pflugerville, TX. Aside from a good challenge, she enjoys camping, barbequing and offering a helping hand.
Gena Gutierrez, Claims Manager
It is no surprise that someone with the customer service and communication skills of Gena Gutierrez would find us before we found her. A true Texan, Gena has logged countless hours serving the big time needs of other major van lines and now (thanks to her!) she keeps the customers of Blue Whale satisfied.
Gena has a beautiful teenaged-girl to brag about and a penchant for beach vacations. We're more than happy to have her aboard.
Brad Armstrong, Founder
Brad Armstrong is the man that started the magic at Blue Whale. He's a lawyer, father, pilot, entrepreneur, business coach, and winner of more entrepreneur and business awards than one can count.
Brad's dedication, integrity and grit are what got Blue Whale off the ground, sent it through the roof and continue to push it to new heights.
A Texas man with an affinity for the California coast, Brad is eager to bring out the best in his crew and his clients. He believes in people and he fosters success where it can be found.
